Dean Hartman brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Henry Brunton Golf Academy. A native of South Dakota, Dean has been a PGA of America Professional since 1986. He returned to the US after an eight-year posting in Malaysia, where he was the Director of Instruction for the MST Golf Academy in Kuala Lampur. In Malaysia, Dean was the Program Director for the "Road to the 2016 Olympics" Training Program- two male and two female athletes qualified for and competed in the Rio Summer Games.

Dean was Head Coach for the Sime Darby LPGA Development Program, in which six of those players advanced to the professional ranks. He coached eight international junior champions; fourteen female golfers/seven male golfers are now on NCAA golf scholarships. In 2011, Dean was recognized by Golf Digest as the Top Teacher in Malaysia and as Teacher of the Year by the National Professional Golf Instructors Association.

Dean has been an integral member of the HBGA Coaching Staff since 2016. He is a Coach for the HBGA Full-Time High-Performance Junior Academy. Students of all ages enjoy Dean’s patient manner and his deep passion for helping others play better golf.
